Kulgam, February 10 (KNO) : Amid fierce firefight between militants and forces in Kellam Kulgam here, massive protests erupted in the village Local sources told KNO that as soon as the gun shots were heard in the area, people marched towards gunfight site and engaged forces in pitched battle by throwing stones and bricks on them. “Despite strict restrictions, locals have gathered near encounter site to rescue militants,’’ locals told KNO. They claimed that forces resorted to aerial firing and use pellet guns to disperse protesters. People have been thronging to gunfight sites to engage forces in protests giving militants opportunity to give them a slip.
